Tv antennas and Tv reception
The default antenna height of the tvfool radar report is 10 feet. Make tvfool radar reports with the antenna heights at 25 feet and 40 feet.

After checking the path profiles for the US network affiliates (click on the station's listing in the table to see), I doubt sincerely that you're going to get anything but PBS and a host of Canadian channels. Along with distance, the major problem is terrain to the east: mountains at about 60 miles away block your closest NBC affiliate. In general, any station with a negative noise margin will be a tough catch.
Are you still interested?

Tv antennas and Tv reception
For reception of the Canada digital tv stations/channels ( canada tv stations/channels do also have American programing) install a Winegard HD7084P antenna with a Antennas Direct CPA-19 preamp above the roof aimed at about 322 degree magnetic compass. Many , as in , Many Canada tv stations/channels will be received. Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html. Here are some Strong and Sturdy antenna mounts , http://www.ronard.com/909911.html , http://www.ronard.com/34424560.html , http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html , http://www.ronard.com. Here are some places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.winegarddirect.com , http://www.channelmasterstore.com , http://www.amazon.com , http://www.ramelectronics.net , http://www.tigerdirect.com , http://www.antennasdirect.com. By the ronard mounts at solidsignal by typing the word ronard in the solidsignal search box or buy from ronard.

Tv antennas and Tv reception
WNPI PBS , WNYF http://wnyftv.org and WCFE 38 PBS at 176 and 119 degree magnetic compass will be easy to receive. WWNY 7 CBS and WWIT 21 ABC at 220 and 218 degree magnetic compass are harder to receive , and WPTZ 14 NBC will most likley not be received , but then the only way to find out on NBC is to try. As part of the installation and testing phase you can aim the HD7084P antenna at the American stations. There is no advantage in signal strength of raising the antenna height from 25 feet to 40 feet but if the installation above the roof goes as high as 40 feet thats Ok.

Thank you for all the advice. I would just be connecting 1 tv for now. Should I still be able to pick up those easier to get American stations with the antenna pointed toward Canada? If so and I was able to pick up some of the harder to reach American stations with the antenna pointed the other way, would I want to get a rotator?

Tv antennas and Tv reception
WNPE , WNYF , WCFE , are strong transmissions at your location and yes will most likley be received through the back side of the antenna with the antenna aimed at the Canada tv stations. . As a test of the weak American stations the antenna will be aimed at , WWNY / WWTI at 219 degree magnetic compass - first and scan for CBS/Fox and ABC/CW. Then the antenna will be turned to WPTZ at 117 degree magnetic compass and rescan to see if NBC/This Tv is received. Depending on how the test goes with the weak American stations is the antenna set up I will recommend for the weak American stations. Most likley a second antenna a Winegard HD7698P with a CPA-19 preamp aimed at WWNY CBS/FOX , WWTI ABC/CW. Because WPTZ NBC will most likley not be received. So if you choose to do a second antenna in the future. That would be two separate antenna systems and the separate coaxes will go to the location of the tv and be connected to a remote control A/B antenna switch , Radio Shack #15-1968.

Tv antennas and Tv reception
The Tv MUST Scan for the Digital Broadcast Tv Channels , sometimes called the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the tv menu because the transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to your receiving antenna. Do Not scan for cable tv channels.
