Would like more local stations

Have just installed a Kross amplified antenna Model GY-Ant02 amplified in the attic. We will try to install it outdoors when the weather improves.

We only get CBC and TVO really good and Global satisfactory.

I am wondering why it doesn't pick up CFTO 9/40, which according to the report should have a fairly strong signal for our location. Would like to get this and maybe CITY TV. Today it picked up CJMTDT 69.1 momentarily and then lost it. I understand they are all broadcast from the CN tower.

We have been been able to get ION which is 148 degrees to the CBC/TVO/Global at 235 deg. Dont mind losing ION.

Hope that's enough info, else please ask. Tks in adv.

The tv transmissions are weak to begin with , having the GY-Ant02 antenna in the attic further reduces the signal strength. The mounting bracket is the back of the antenna , aim the front of the GY-Ant02 antenna at about 215 degree magnetic compass in the attic. And extended the rods out. If reception is still not very good , the GY-Ant02 antenna will need to be mounted above the roof. If the GY-Ant02 antenna is mounted above the roof then aim the antenna at about 193 degree magnetic compass.

The tv needs to scan for the , Digital Broadcast Tv Channels , sometimes called the 'air channels'. Do Not scan for cable tv channels.

Tks for the replies Electron. At the moment we are just using it for 1 TV.. no cable. Have scanned it for DT OTA ... we adjusted to 215 degrees, the reception seems clearer, but still it does not pick up CFTO. CBC, TVO and Global, and WIVB/WGRZ/WKBW/FOX/WNLO etc in listed from stronger to weaker.

We know that it will be better once we can install it outdoors. For now I suppose we just have to keep adjusting a few degrees west to get more Toronto stations, by trial and error to see what comes through ?

Put antenna in a window that faces the , south south west. If you can mount the antenna on a south south west outside wall , Up High , that would help. Define what you mean by , the reception seems clearer.

DTV reception.

I mean there is less fluctuation in signal strength and quality on most stations now and the image appears sharper.

When the weather warms up , install a Channel Master CM5018 antenna with a CM7778 preamp , above the roof , aimed at about 193 degree magnetic compass for the reception of Canada and American Digital Tv stations/channels. Here are some roof mounts , CM3092 tripod , CM9030 eave mount. http://www.saveandreplay.com
