To start off here is my signal analysis

I have what looks like(no markings on it I can see) an antennacraft 5884
http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ctId=11000532# hanging atm from the 8-9 foot ceiling of my garage pointed to the south east... it has been there since I bought the house about 10yrs ago.. The only diff in appearance is that the long horizontal portions of the antenna on the front of it angle slightly back on both sides making a chevron shapes.
My 1st question is if possible should those be folded forward so they stick straight out from where they are attached.
2nd I would like to take this antenna to the roof and attach it to the newer coax that was installed for my old sat dish before I switched to cable... this would allow me to use the cables run to all of the homes rooms rather than just the living room.
I have been thinking of buying a winegard antenna for better reception, but then decided I should at least take this antenna to the roof and giving it a shot before I spent the monies on something I possibly dont need
ATM I get less than 40% signal on any station and usually thats ok but if any storm rolls through and or now that there are leaves on trees again I get little moments of bad pic and sound to constant in/out of pic and sound
I am interested in 4,5,8,11,13,21,27,33,34,52 do you guys think I should give this this a shot or is this antenna since it is 10yrs+ ld should be replaced it appears to be in perfect shape.
One other thing I have a RCA DTA800B1l converter box I dislike this thing whats a good keep alternative to replace this
