Attics Are Not a reception friendly environment and Never Will Be a reception friendly environment.

Start with a , www.antennacraft.net , HBU11K antenna in the attic , aimed at about 220 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html

Use a Real and Actual magnetic compass to aim antenna.

-------

The Tv signals strengths are strong at your reception location.

A antenna system amplifier is not required.

-----

For 1 Tv connected use No splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a simple common 2 way splitter.

For 3 Tv's connected use a simple common 3 way splitter.

For 4 Tv's connected use a simple common 4 way splitter.

-------

If reception situation/problems happen in the attic that are not resolvable with antenna aim and location adjustments in the attic.

Then move the HBU11K antenna to above the roof the peak of the roof in such a manner that reception is not , obstructed , impeded , blocked , by the attic , roof and building in the directions of reception.

The directions of reception at your location are , the main group of Tv stations to the South West , and other directions of reception to the , West , North West , North , South East.

As always , trees and tree leaves , plants and plant leaves , buildings and other obstructions have a Negative Effect on Broadcast Tv Reception.

Some and not all Negative Effects are.

Absorbing and Blocking Reception.

Multi-Path Reflecting Tv Signals Bouncing All Around.

The Best Practice is to install the , HBU11K antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception including your own roof and building.

Thanks for your help. Will see if HOA will allow me to roof mount the HBU11K.

Here is the Federal Antenna Law that says Yes you and every one can install a Broadcast Tv Antenna of Any Size Above The Peak Of The Roof so as to have Reliable Reception.

Hoa's are well aware of the Federal Antenna Law.

And some Hoa's are thinking your are not aware and even if you do become aware of the Federal Antenna Law , you will not understand the Federal Antenna Law.

That the Federal Antenna Law says Yes you can install Broadcast Tv Antennas of Any Size Outside Above The Peak of the Roof in such a manner so as to have Reliable Reception , and you do not have to hide the antenna and you do not have to contact the Hoa.

You do not have ask the Hoa for permission or even contact the Hoa about installing a Broadcast Tv Antenna above the roof so as to have Reliable Reception.

You're right regarding the HOA and the FCC law. I checked with ours just in case. The HBU11K looks like a good choice. I do plan to mount the antenna on the roof rather than in the attic now that I know the HOA will not be a problem. Any thoughts on the Antenna Craft HDX1000?

Free at last! No more cable. Picked up a HDTV and an indoor Terk Antenna. I get 19 channels which is fine for now. Will switch to a better antenna once it warms up.

Concerning the HDX1000 and other amplified antennas for reception at your location.

A amplified antenna -->Is Not<--required at your reception location of the Tv stations in the Green reception zone and most if not all of the Yellow reception zone.

If a antenna system amplifier is required , then one can be added at a later date.

Good to know. I still can't pick up ABC, so I will try the HBU11K antenna on the roof. Maybe it will pick up those "Green" signals including ABC.
