Which antenna 03766

Hi, this is my report:
http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...e779bd147039ad

So I'm in the stix. I would like an attic install, underneath a single layer of shingles. I have a two story home, modern (2004) prefab and the attic is on top of that, pretty high up. Is that an option for me? Which antenna would be recommended?I would love to pull in that Fox station from Burlington, but that may be overreaching. I'd be happy with NBC, ABC and CBS, though.

The following is a Teleview Recommendation for Broadcast Tv Reception.

Make a second tvfool radar plot report with the antenna height at 25 feet.

How many Tv's are/will be connected??

Look at the path profile of WFFF and you'll see that the terrain between the transmitter (shown on the left of the graphic) and your location is a bit of a challenge.

Reception of the group of stations to the NW (349° compass) is possible. I would try for reception of WFFF if I was in your situation. I would need to mount outside, clear of obstructions.

I would use an Antennas Direct 91XG equipped with an Antennas Direct PA-18 preamplifier. To receive WVNY, real CH-13, I would install an Antennacraft Y10713 also equipped with an Antennas Direct PA-18. The two antennas can be mounted on the same mast if separated by at least three or more feet. the cable from each antenna can be combined only on the 'TV/output' side of the power insertion blocks which should be inside out of the weather.

From in the attic, you'll be limiting your options to the signals in green, yellow and perhaps the occasional weaker signal. Can you consider roof or gable mounting?

This is using Google Maps, and getting the coords right on top of my roof.
As an additional piece of info, I do get the CBS channel on Rabbit ears in my basement.

I probably will connect 4 or 5 TVs, but less if I have to.

Tv Reception.

The following is a Teleview Recommendation for Broadcast Tv RECEPTION.

For reception of the north west group of Digital Tv stations/channels.

For reception of WFFF , FOX and the CW the Tv antenna will be mounted above the roof.

WPTZ-DT REAL UHF Digital channel 14 , virtual number (5.1-2) NBC and This Tv.

WCXA-DT REAL UHF Digital channel 22 , virtual number (3.1-2) CBS and Weather X.

WVNY-DT REAL VHF Digital channel 13 , virtual number (22.1) ABC.

WETK-DT REAL UHF Digital channel 32 , virtual number (33.1) PBS.

WFFF-DT REAL UHF Digital channel 43 , virtual number (44.1-2) FOX and CW.

WNNE NBC , WVTA PBS , W28DQ Religion , W50DP PBS , are strong signal strength at your location and will most likely be received even though the antenna is not aimed at the Tv transmitters.

Install a Winegard HD7697P antenna with a Channel Master 7777 preamp aimed at about 349 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Here are some Above the Roof Antenna Mounts , http://www.ronard.com/909911.html , http://www.ronard.com/34424560.html , http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html , http://www.ronard.com.

Buy the ronard antenna mounts at solidsignal by typing the word ronard in the solidsignal search box.

Here are places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.winegarddirect.com , http://www.amazon.com , http://www.channelmasterstore.com.

As always , trees and tree leaves do a real fine job of reducing and blocking Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions.

It is best to mount the antenna at a location that has the least amount to know amount of obstructions in the direction of reception.

The Tv's Must Channel Scan for the Digital Broadcast Tv Channels , sometimes named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.

Unfortunately, your second report indicates reception of WFFF is more challenging than shown in the first report.

The combination of 91XG and Y10713 is still my suggestion. Your chances of success improve significantly if you are able to mount the antenna(s) clear of trees and other obstructions.
