TV Signal Issue

I would like to thank you in advance for giving me guidance with my reception issue. By no means do I fully understand everything that I’m doing, so please excuse my ignorance, and correct me.
Here are the stations that I am concerned with receiving.
WPVI, KYW, WCAU, WPSG, and WTXF
Here are the results for my location.
http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...e1c612d5e051e9
I mounted the antenna (18ft off ground) where the previous owners had one installed. I ran a 2ft section of rg6 from tv to fm trap, then 25ft of rg6 from trap to grounding block and 7ft from grounding block to antenna transformer. I tried a preamp, but made all stations worse so I am not using one. Not sure of the antenna brand or model. I can tell you it was in storage (Told it is 16 years old) and looks to be brand new (It was given to me).
Here is a picture of Antenna: http://s1329.photobucket.com/user/gu...a5510.jpg.html

I currently receive all channels perfectly with the exception on WPVI. This station is pixilated off and on from time to time. Other times you cannot even watch, it is so bad. It seems that during the day 10am – 7pm and 11pm to 6am seems to be the best reception time. This leads me to believe someone is causing the interference, but not sure what to do.
I do have a fire station and a police station to the east of the house, but not in the line of site of antenna (They would be in the back of antenna). Not sure if the trees are giving me issues for they are about 20yards away in line of sight.
Any Help Would Be Appreciated
Thanks
Stu

Try removing the FM trap. Some, though not all, will have a negative impact on the signal from real CH-6 which is very close to the same frequency range as the FM band.

Also, consider experimenting with alternate mounting height and location.

Yes, great advice on removing the trap. Traps are rarely needed unless an amplifier is used.

How many TV's are connected?

Edit, just noticed you DO have some FM stations that may be problematic. Run an FM Fool report & note how far 88.7, 90.7 & 106.5 are from you. (FM Fool won't save results with a link like TV Fool does) What brand of trap are you using?

Are you completely positive none of the crossed phasing lines are actually touching each other? Hard to tell from here, even zoomed in tight (nice big pic, though).

To Prove Reception.

Remove the old matching transformer (balun) that is connected to the antenna.

Connect a NEW Channel Master CM94444 Matching transformer to the antenna.

Connect a NEW -->Continues Length<-- of Coax to the New Matching Transformer , and run the NEW Continues Length of Coax through a open door or window Direct to 1 Tv.

No couplers.

No splitters.

No amplifiers.

No nothing.

It is the , Antenna , NEW matching transformer , NEW Continues length coax , Direct to the 1 Tv.

----------------------

Aim the antenna at about , 329 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas.

http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Use a Real and Actual magnetic compass to aim antenna , do not trust a , cell phone , tablet and etc. compass.

Most Digital Tv's have a Signal Strength Meter and some Digital Tv's also have a Signal Quality Meter.

----------------------

Digital Tuners can develop -Digital Glitches- that are not cleared out with simple channel scans.

To clear tuner do Double Rescan.

http://www.wchstv.com/DoubleReScanAlert.pdf.

----------------------

The Tv Must Channel Scan for the , OTA=Over The Air , ATSC Digital Broadcast Tv Stations/Channels , often named the ~ Antenna Channels ~ ATSC Channels ~ DTV Channels ~ Air Channels ~ in the Tv Setup Menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the Air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

DO NOT Channel Scan for Cable Tv Channels.

-----------------------

Also know this.

As always , trees and tree leaves , plants and plant leaves , have a Negative Effect on Broadcast Tv Reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own , attic , roof , building , in the directions of reception.

The directions of reception at your reception location are , West North West , South West.

The Best Practice for Reliable Reception is to install the Tv antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception including your own , attic , roof , building , in the directions of reception.

The directions of reception at your location are , West North West , South West.

-----------------------

What is reception like now??
