Strange problem

http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...5b946a1f1c46e6 I recently cut the cord.I thought my antenna setup was going well. As I found what I thought was all the local channels that would be available, I started checking all that was found using the signal meter on my Panasonic Plasma.
I started with channel 4-1 and had 87% strength.Next was channel 4-2 with 88% strength. (But sound, no picture).4-3 86%(sound,no picture) Next channel 6-1 88% (both sound and great picture). Now I could go through all the channels with result, but what I've determined is all channels with a -1
designation I get a great picture good signal strength and sound.Any channel with a -2 or higher designation ,I only received sound mostly with strong signal strength. I have few differnt antennas and tryed them with same result.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

It's not an antenna problem.

There's something wrong with the TV set, either an incorrect configuration or so off-the-wall defect.

Check the SAP setting, try a double re-scan, look for a "Factory reset", and then, if necessary, call Panasonic.

Thank you. I tried the double scan without success. I am thinking the T.V. is the problem. My Panny was purchased in 05 and was never connected for antenna input until now. Panasonic is no help because they dont support product this "old". TH-42d25 hasn't been made for awhile. The good news is, the channels I do get are very good. Just a frustrating situation. Another chapter, I tried connecting a converter box, thinking maybe by bypassing the tuner would help. The converter box menu would not show on either channel 2 0r3. (yes, I did a channel scan). If you have any other off the wall things I could try, feel free. I think I'm going to write this off as the T.V. is the culprit and move on.

SD converter box output will be on ch 3 or 4 plus A/V outputs (red, white, yellow). A/V cables are cheap and usually come with converter boxes, DVD players, VCRs, and other such items. You may have one stashed away in a drawer or box somewhere.

OTOH, if you have HD inputs (HDMI, component, or possibly DVI) on the Panny, you can get an HD converter that will extend the TV set's service life. Bare bones HD boxes, some even with recording capability (with an external drive) have popped up recently and some are quite inexpensive.

Oh, it's the TV, alright...
