Help replace my Leaf using my Fool report, please!

Hi. I'm seeking advice on an indoor antenna, 10 feet high on my living room wall.

Here's my report:
http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...c84f385835cf7f

I'm using an amplified Mohu Leaf. Here are the channels I receive, regardless of whether amplification is activated (e.g., it doesn't seem to help or hinder).

13.1 YES
17.1 (6.1) YES
23.1 YES

3.1 NO reception
29.1 NO
31.1 NO
33.1 NO
35.1 NO
38 NO (Same channel comes in on 13.1)

3.1 and 29.1 come in sometimes, but I haven't discerned a pattern based on time of day or weather conditions. During the Olympics, it seemed 3.1 was often accessible morning and afternoon, then konked out at night, but that wasn't always the case.

What antenna would you suggest for receiving the most channels? Any other insights you have are appreciated.

Before the Leaf, I had old rabbit ears which were superior insofar as they also received 29.1 and I could balance the ears on a series of cardboard boxes and then receive channel 3.1.

It's a single story house. The antenna will be 10 feet up on a wall, connected to a single TV. Between where the antenna will hang, and the direction of the primary signals, is a garage.

Thank you.

Here the Federal Antenna Law that says Yes you can install antennas above the roof in such a manner so as to have Reliable Tv Reception.

http://www.fcc.gov/mb/facts/otard.html.

Install a Winegard HD7000R antenna above the roof in such a manner that the roof and house and garage do not block Broadcast Tv Reception to the , south west , south , south east.

Here are some above the roof antenna mounts , http://www.ronard.com/909911.html , http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html , http://www.ronard.com/34424560.html if using the eave mount use the #4560. , http://www.ronard.com.

Buy the ronard antenna mounts at solidsignal by typing the word ronard in the solidsignal search box or buy from ronard.

Here are some places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.amazon.com , http://www.winegarddirect.com.

Use no preamplifier.

For 1 Tv connected use no splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a simple common 2 way splitter.

For 3 Tv's connected use a simple common 3 way splitter.

As always , trees and tree leaves do a good job of , reflecting , reducing , blocking Digital Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own roof and house and garage.

It is best to locate the antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception including your own roof and house and garage.

The Tv's Must Channel Scan for the Broadcast Tv Channels , often named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

Some Digital Tv's will automatic channel scan for cable Tv channels.

Go into the Tv setup menu and select , 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels'.

DO NOT Channel Scan for Cable Tv Channels!!.

Thank you for the detailed information. I'm merely looking for the best indoor antenna solution. It may sound strange, but my TV is on a rolling platform and is moved to different positions in the room several times a year as my wife decides it's time to redecorate again, and is sometimes moved to a different room for a single day.

I'm just looking for the best antenna to hang on a hook on the wall, per my TV report. If the Leaf is on par with other antennas I might buy, then I'll suffice with not receiving most stations.

I thought maybe there was a better antenna based on the number of UHF/VHF/etc. stations in my area, compared to what the Leaf might be best at receiving.

Thanks.

The Leaf is a UHF only design. Consider the Terk HDTVi (not HDTVa).
