Indoor Antenna:

I was wondering if I could get some recommendations based on the TV Signal Analysis report,

I live in an apartment building and we can only have indoor antennas. My TV is Sony Bravia XBR.

If you have a window or balcony with a view east, you have plenty of opportunity for very good reception.

Thank you GroundUrMast for your reply. I do have a balcony with a South view. Does it mean the Terk HDTVi is not a good candidate?

Additional information I could provide is that my budget is $100 to $125 if it helps.

Any antenna, regardless of size or cost, will need to be aimed at the transmitter towers. Those are almost entirely due east of your location. If your balcony gives you the opportunity to 'look' east, then you have a very good shot at great reception. If you are forced to aim through obstructions, you may still have good reception... It's going to depend on what the obstruction is made of. Metal and concrete are not nice to OTA TV signals, they block and reflect much more than glass and wood.

If you placed a Terk HDTVi near your TV, would it be able to point east without obstructions? If 'no', then what type of building and vegetation would it be pointed toward?

I can definitely look East standing in my balcony. But, unfortunately we can't have anything in the balcony per our leasing rules.

If I put the Terk HDTVi antenna next to my TV pointing East in my living room, walls after walls of the apartment building will block the signal. We don't have much of vegetation blocking. It is mostly buildings.

Are you familiar with the OTARD rules? http://www.fcc.gov/guides/over-air-r...n-devices-rule

If you own, rent or lease a space, the OTARD rules protect your right to install and use an antenna to receive OTA signals.

An antenna on a balcony is protected by the OTARD rules.

If they say I can install an antenna in the balcony, then I will take it that Terk HDTVi will be the best choice for me to install it in my balcony point East?

The Terk HDTVi is an indoor antenna. I wouldn't expect it to hold up to outdoor exposure well.

For outdoor use, consider the Antennas Direct C2-V-CJM

I am certain, that the rental office already knows about the OTARD rules and just hope and pray, that the tenants aren't smart enough to know about them.

Here is how aim indoor and outdoor type antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

As recommended use the HDTVi antenna or the CS2v Complete Uhf/Vhf antenna.

The Tv/s Must Channel Scan for the , OTA=Over The Air , Digital Broadcast Tv stations/channels , often named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv Setup Menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the Air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

Some Digital Tv's will Automatic channel scan for cable tv channels.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.

Go into the Tv Setup Menu and select , 'Air Channels' ~ 'Antenna Channels'.

Scan for channels.

Hi,

Installed the antenna. Below are some of the channels I'm receiving.

KCBS, NBC-4LA, KTLA, KABC, Livewell, KCAL, FOX11, HSN, PBS, KCET, NHK World, ION, QVC, KDOC, KLCS & a host of Latin channels, Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese etc.
