Ok, let's start at the top.
Here's my map.
I can pick up WJKT without an antenna.
I have an
Antennas Direct DB4 mounted outside on an 18" J-mount, pointed towards the mass of channels to the southwest and can get all of them I want, except for WMC which for some reason thinks it's hip to stay on Low-band VHF.
I can also pick up WBBJ to the East, but it's a little flaky with artifacts and audio drops.
So here was my plan.
1. Upgrade to a 40" J-mount to give myself enough mast to mount multiple antennas.
2. Install the DB4, pointed southwest to get all those channels except WMC.
3. Install a smaller directional antenna, on the same mast, pointed East to get WBBJ. (Currently looking at the
Winegard HD1080)
4. Install a big honking Low-band VHF antenna on the top of the mast to pick up WMC.
AntennaCraft Y5-2-6
5. Combine the big VHF antenna's signal with the Winegard HD1080's signal using a
UVSJ
6. Combine that signal to the DB4's signal using a
Winegard CC-7870
Looking over the dimensions, they should all physically fit (just barely) on a 40" mast.
Is this going to do what I want it to do?
I'm open to suggestions.
