UHF Reception, No VHF Reception

I just installed an RCA Outdoor Antenna (ANT751R) on my roof. After aiming the antenna properly and setting up the TV I have 7 UHF channels with awesome reception...but I'm missing at least 3 VHF channels.

In the direction my antenna is pointing there is a vertical, decorative portion of the roof. Is it possible that my lack of VHF is due to this obstacle and I will need to raise my antenna?

Report: http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...0b869586e1d471

Thanks.

The ANT-751 is not designed to receive real channels 2 through 6 well.

Which stations are you having trouble receiving? (Call Sign and real CH# please)

Tv antennas and Tv reception

What is the vertical decorative made of?? Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html. Of the Digital Only channels in Pending Applications Included , one channel is 'Real channel' VHF 13 KCOS PBS , all the rest are UHF 'Real channels'. Tvfool lists both the Real and actual channel that is received and the Virtual channels. In most cases the Virtual channel numbers are the Legacy channel numbers of the tv station before it switched to digital. Is KCOS 13 PBS not being received?? How far down the list of Real Digital Only channels is being received?? List it by the Call sign and Real channel number , as an example , KTFN 51 Tel.

KCOS 13
KVIA 17
KTSM 9

The decorative is made of stucco. Probably some wood and whatnot in there.

I'm trying to figure out what channels I do get, some of them broadcast special names instead of call signs.

OK, so I guess I only get three channels as I'm assuming 4-1 and 4-2 are the same?

Virtual (38-1 thru 38-3) KSCE Real 39
Virtual (14-1 thru 14-2) KFOX Real 15
Virtual (4-1 thru 4-2) KDBC Real 18

Stucco is notorious for having wire mesh imbedded in it, making it a reflector of RF.

Try moving the antenna... higher or to the opposite side of the obstruction.

The ANT-751 should do well except for the three Mexican signals on real channels 2, 5 & 11.

Stucko is held in place with stucko WIRE. Stucko WIRE makes a wonderful reflective surface that reflects tv transmissions away from the tv antenna. Raise the antenna above the stucko WIRE. As an example , Virtual (38.1 thru 38.3 ) are Real channels , 39.1 , 39.2 , 39.3.

I looked it up and the Analog channels , XEJ 5 is transmitting on Digital channel XEJ-TDT UHF 50 , XEPM 2 is transmitting on Digital channel XEPM-TDT UHF 29 , XEDI00 11 is most likley transmitting as Digital channel UHF 34 , K48IK 48 is transmitting as K48IK Digital channel UHF 48 , and K26KJ 26 is most likley transmitting as K26KJ digital channel UHF 26. . If your tv has a Analog tv tuner , some of the newer tv's do not have Analog tuners because Analog is all but gone , you can tune the Analog stations and see if any Analog channels are received.
