Help with Antenna selection

So I have done some reading through here and I think I picked an indoor antenna that will suit my needs but wanted to check with some of the experts around here first.

The channel I don't get now that I really wanna get is CBS. I don't wanna lose all the other's just wanna be able to pick up CBS as well for Football time coming up. I live in an apartment as well so a outdoor antenna is not a possibility for me.

From the reading I did I came across this antenna at Amazon:

It was from an older post recommending antenna's I just wanted to make sure it was a good option, and ask if I would need to get anything else, or if just the antenna and I should be good to go.

You did good on antenna selection. Aim the antenna at about 159 degree magnetic compass. Here is how to aim indoor Tv antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html . A apt. building that has wood frame construction with wood or vinyl siding and a composition shingle roof is good for Tv reception. These next construction materials can reduce or block Tv reception , concrete , bricks , stucko Wire , metal siding , metal roof , solar panels , metal backed insulation , Texas , for some reason is real big on metal backed insulation. Is your apt. building lined with metal backed insulation in the walls or inside of the roof?? . Saying that you can not put a antenna out side is not true , do you have a patio or balcony?? And in what direction is the patio or balcony?? Here is the Federal Law that says Yes you can put a Tv antenna on the patio or balcony , http://www.fcc.gov/mb/facts/otard.html . This -> Federal Law <- Overrides All other laws , HOA's , housing covents , apartment housing rules and regulations.

Honestly I don't know about the construction of the apartment. From whatwhat I can tell there is no metal, atleast none is visible I would probably have to ask about the interior base though. I imagine I'll just try that antenna and if that has problems work from there.

When I mentioned the no outdoor antenna I guess I was more thinking about a rooftop antenna. I do have a balcony, and it faces north. I would prefer just to keep an indoor antenna really. I believe your right about using an antenna on the patio though. I remember when I signed the lease them talking about antenna's/satellites and I really just have to mention it to them and it would be ok.

Thanks for the quick response I'll probably order that indoor antenna here in a few minutes and give it a shot. As long as I get CBS I'll be happy. Gotta watch my Houston Texans!!!

From now on when you move you need to consult tvfool. Your easy to receive Tv stations are to the south , not north. I think that CBS will be received Ok.
