Apartment Life Sucks!

First off, here is my TVFool report:
http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...e1c6d027653a44

My current reception results are as follows:
2.1 GOOD
4.1 NOTHING
5.1 VERY POOR QUALITY TO NOTHING
7.1 NOTHING
24.1 GOOD
36.1 GOOD

My situation is that I am in an apartment living on the first floor. Just moved from a house. I am using the RCA ANT751 antenna with a straight coax line into my Tivo.

My RCA ANT751 used to be installed at my house that was even further away. At my old house I got all the above channels with minor issues. Now I am closer and in a less than ideal situation.

I tried using the Mohu Leaf 50 and got worse results. So I sent it back and continue to use my RCA ANT751. Its a bit of an eye sore in this tiny apartment.

Any suggestions to improve my reception?
I don't completely understand how I am getting different results from these channels when my report shows that they are all broadcasting from the same location. I guess 4, 5, and 7 are from a slightly different location. Maybe there are problems with that broadcast tower.

The inside of buildings and attics Are Not a reception friendly environment and Never Will Be a reception friendly environment.

Install the , ANT751 antenna , in/at , a window that faces ~ East South East or out on a patio that is ~ East South East.

Aim the ANT751 antenna at about 138 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Use a Real and Actual magnetic compass to aim antenna , do not trust a , cell phone , tablet and etc. compass.

Digital Tuners can develop - Digital Glitches - that are not cleared out with simple channel scans.

To clear tuner do Double Rescan.

There's nothing wrong with the broadcasters.

Unfortunately, the problem is your particular location.

Where do you have your RCA ANT751 antenna installed? Indoors? Outdoors on a balcony?

Is it generally pointed towards 107 degrees on a compass (towards your major networks)?

If indoors, how many and what type walls does it point through? Is there line of site east-south-east? Is there a huge building next to you? Can it be aimed through a window?

My antenna is in the corner on top of a cabinet. As it gets closer to the ceiling the signal gets worse. Its pointing in the right direction. I'm in the back corner of the apartments too so i have to go thru everyone else's apartments. My only windows are on the west side of the building.

So yeah I figured that I'm in a pretty crappy location.
Not sure if there was any other option that might work better.

If it's a big building, it's likely a concrete floor with either reinforcement rod, or metal decking that forms and supports the concrete until it's cured. Or both. No surprise that it's negatively effecting reception, and even wood is likely to have negative effects. Walls similarly can have metal studs, or wire lathe (if plaster), and electrical wiring, and plumbing, and so on. Plus all your neighbors' stuff, including big metal boxes like refrigerators.

Any chance there's a big building outside your window that your antenna can 'see'? Sometimes, in big cities for instance, you can get better reception with signals reflected off a large object, like a building or hill.

Other than that, of marginal utility at best, I'm spitting dust.

A Patio on the , North side or South side of your apartment??

If so put the ANT751 antenna out on the patio and point the antenna ~East~.

-----------------

Also can you move to a apartment that is in a better location to receive the Tv stations to the , Main Group of Tv Stations East South East , and other Tv stations , North West , South West.
