Pennsylvania - Antenna Help

Good Morning,

I've been waiting for Aereo to be offered in my area (east of pittsburgh), however who knows what will happened with the supreme court. So I thought I would look into OTA antennas. I bought a cheapy one from Lowes and tried it and got 1 local channel through it (WPXI-NBC). But that was it, and I want to try to get the local CBS and FOX channels for football broadcasts come fall as well. I'm currently renting so an indoor attic / window antenna would be best. I'm not sure how my landlord would feel about me putting an antenna on the side of the chimney.
Here is my TV Fool report:

I was thinking about purchasing something like this:

My question is, will this work to pick up CBS and FOX? Am I too far from the broadcast stations to pick up a good signal with an indoor antenna? Can you recommend a setup that you feel would work best? Thanks for the help! I've already learned a lot the past week reading through the forums and I really appreciate the help.
Thanks,
-Andrew

Lost cause? Maybe. Unrealistic expectations, yes.

To see if the signal strengths improve of the weaker signal strength tv stations that you will like to receive.

Please and make and post 2 more tvfool reports at 40 and 60 feet antenna heights.

Thanks for the help! I spoke to my landlord some more and I may be able to mount something on the side of the house. Or mount it to the outside of one of the attic windows in whichever direction would give me the best reception. I would still rather have an indoor antenna but understand that might not get me any channels due to my location. At this point I'm open to any options that will work. Here are the reports you asked for.

40 feet height:

60 feet height:

Thanks again!

The smallest antenna I can recommend is a

HBU11K antenna

installed Above the Peak of the Roof in such a manner that the roof and building are not , obstructing , impeding , blocking , reception in the directions of , East North East and South South West.

Aim the HBU11K antenna at about 208 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Use a Real and Actual magnetic compass to aim antenna , do not trust a , cell phone , tablet and etc. compass.

Test reception without a antenna system amplifier.

If a amplifier is required then install a , Antenna Craft , 10G201 preamp.

------------------------------

A , HBU33 antenna installed above the Peak of the Roof will be better for reception.

Test reception without a antenna system amplifier.

If a antenna system amplifier is required then install a , Antenna Craft . 10G201 preamplifier.

Here are some and not all antenna mounts that do not make holes in the roof.

Install the , ronard(4560) , eave antenna mount.

Measure around the chimney and use a , ronard(2212) , ronard(2218 , ronard(2224) .

--------------------------------

A Tv Antenna that is Designed to Look Like a small satellite dish is the

HDX1000 Broadcast Tv Antenna.

The HDX1000 will also be install Above the Peak of the Roof so that the Roof and Building Are Not , obstructing , impeding , blocking , reception in the directions of , East North East , South South West.

The HDX1000 will also be aimed at about 208 degree magnetic compass direction.

The HDX1000 has a built in amplifier so a added amplifier is not required.

-------------------------------

As always , trees and tree leaves , plants and plant leaves , have a Negative Effect on Broadcast Tv Reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own roof and building.

Some and not all Negative Effects are.

Absorbing and Blocking Reception.

Multi-Path Reflecting Tv Signals Bouncing All Around.

The Best Practice for Reliable Reception is to install the antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind including your own roof and building in the directions of reception.
