Debating upgrading my antenna...

I'm not sure how big of a PITA it would be and if it would be worth it for a couple of stations. I'm using a RCA ANT1050 (laughing yet? It was a gift.) and getting decent reception on most of the 'green' channels on my report. Though I was pleasantly surprised to get anything at all with my battenna, I would really like to get NBC (channel 5) and have more reliable reception on the rest of my channels.

Since I'm getting channels 3, 10, 13, 23, 24, 30, 40, and 50 (some of which are slightly pixelated or lagging at times but usually watchable) I'm not sure how extreme I need to go. Here is my TV Fool report.

Thank you in advance.

Consider an all channel antenna such as the Channel Master CM-3016 or CM-3018... Or the Antennacraft HD-850 or HD-1200.

If you have long cable runs or are splitting to several TVs, the Winegard HD7084P would be a premium solution, though not overkill.

All of these antennas will do best if mounted above the roof, clear of obstructions. An amplifier should be avoided unless you have unusually long cable runs or you're splitting many ways. Point the antenna north and slightly west to start, fine tune the aim before tightening the clamps in their final position.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)

As always , trees and tree leaves , plants and plant leaves , have a Negative Effect on Broadcast Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own roof and building in the directions of reception.

Some and not all Negative Effects are

The Best Pratice is to install the CM5016 antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions in the directions of reception including your own roof and house.

Digital Broadcast Tv Tuners can develop - Digital Glitches - that are not cleared out with simple channel scans.

To clear tuner , do Double Rescan.
