Question Do I need an external antenna here in Canada?

I did the following analysis http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...cc496f95067da3 but am a bit puzzled with it as I can see where the Background color that it is referring to is.

Is it telling me I need an attic anntena or even an external one to get the basic Canadian network feeds like CBC, CTV, GlobalTV etc?

For reception of the Canada Digital Tv stations/channels.

So , is this a , house , town home , condo , apartment , mobile home , motor home , or etc.??

What directions are the , windows , patios , balconies??

What floor??

What is the top floor??

If the building is wood with wood or vinyl siding and composition shingles is best for indoor reception.

For a indoor type antenna at each Tv location.

I recommend try a TERK HDTVi antenna , (not the HDTVa antenna) , aimed at about 215 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim indoor and outdoor antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

The following is a - non complete - list of situations that will reduce or block reception with a indoor antenna.
If the building is , concrete , brick , metal siding , metal backed insulation , metal roof , solar panels.
____________

As always , trees and tree leaves do a real fine job of reducing or blocking Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions.

It is best to install a antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions or reception.

At your location that is , north , west , south.

The Tv/s Must Channel Scan for the Digital Broadcast Tv Channels , sometimes named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

Do Not channel scan for cable tv channels.

If Weaker Tv station CHMI-DT REAL VHF 13 , City Tv , is not received with the indoor antenna then install a ANT751 antenna , no preamplifier , above the roof in such a manner that the roof or building is not blocking reception in directions of , north west , south.

Aim the ANT751 at about 215 degree magnetic compass direction.

For 1 Tv connected use No splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a common simple 2 way splitter.

For 3 Tv's connected use a common simple 3 way splitter.
