Antenna types

I recently opted to go back to basic TV, ever since I stopped my dish network subscription I can only get one of my local stations with my current antenna. Can anyone tell me what antenna I should look at or how to decide what is the best antenna for my needs. According to google earth I am approximately 38 miles from the network antenna.

Thank you in advance for any help.

I live in a ranch style house and a majority of our windows and the deck are on the south side of the house.
