Basement Rental Help

Hi, I am currently renting in a basement apartment so I do not have access to install anything outside or in the attic. I was hoping to receive the major networks if possible.

Thank You for any insight.

ALL questions and answers about broadcast tv reception and More.

The following is a Teleview - recommendation for digital broadcast Tv reception.

If there are windows , what directions are the windows??

If there is a stairway that goes to your apartment from the outside , what direction is it??

Are there any of those small satellite dishes outside.

There are windows facing the cardinal directions, one large one that is on the south west corner. The stairs are on the south side. There are no satellite dishes. Thank you again.

The following is a Teleview - recommendation for digital broadcast Tv reception.

The reason I ask about the small dishes is if there were some then you could put a small broadcast Tv antenna outside all so.

A large window to the south west , excellent.

The main group of Digital Tv transmitters is to the south west.

I recommend a TERK HDTVi antenna aimed at about 226 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim indoor type antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

I do not know how high the window is above ground , I recommend put the HDTVi antenna as high up as possible in the window that is toward the south west.

The less obstructions there are toward the south west the better the reception will be.

If the Tv is not close , a long coax can connect the antenna to the Tv.

The Tv Must Channel Scan for the Digital Broadcast Tv Channels , sometimes named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv signals travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.
