FOOL Report for my parents house

Hello everyone. I am trying to help my folks get their TV squared away. I found this site very helpful last year so figured I would return for their situation. Here is their TV fool report.

http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...e1c6e79385227c

They have a small hill to the northeast of them which is the general direction of the antennas it appears. Their set top antenna isn't getting but half of the local channels so I figured an attic antenna would be better. My antenna is an EZHD from dennys which works well for my situation, but I'm not sure if it will work for them.

Thank you for any feedback you are able to provide.

For the Reception of Tv Transmissions.

-->As Always<-->Attics and the Inside of Buildings Are Not a Reception Friendly Environment , and Never Will Be a Reception Friendly Environment.

For reception of the Strong Signal Strength Local Digital Broadcast Tv Stations/Channels.

Yes start with a , http://www.antennacraft.net.

HBU33 antenna , in the attic , aimed at about 40 degree magnetic compass direction.

--------------------

Here is how to aim antennas , www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Use a Real and Actual magnetic compass to aim antennas , do not trust a , cell phone , tablet and etc. compass.

--------------------

A , http://www.antennacraft.net.

UAM9000 , J pipe type antenna mount will work Ok in the attic.

--------------------

A antenna amplifier will most likely not be required.

--------------------

For 1 Tv connected use No splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a , Holland Electronics , HFS-2D , 2 way splitter.

For 3 Tv's connected use a , Holland Electronics , HFS-3D , 3 way splitter.

Buy the , HFS-2D , HFS-3D , splitters at , http://www.hollandelectronics.com , or , http://www.amazon.com.

--------------------

If reception situations happen in the attic that are not resolvable with antenna aim adjustments and antenna location adjustments in the attic.

Then move the HBU33 antenna to above the peak of the roof in such a manner that reception is not , obstructed , impeded , blocked , by the , attic , roof and building in the directions of reception.

The directions of reception at your location are , East , North East , North , South South East.

The HBU33 antenna above the roof can be aimed at about 40 degree magnetic compass for reception of the local strong signal strength Tv stations.

--------------------

As a Test of reception for more Tv stations channels , with the HBU33 antenna above the peak of the roof.

Can aim the HBU33 antenna at about 180 degree magnetic compass direction to receive weaker signal strength Tv stations to the South South East.

And the stronger signal strength local Tv stations will be received at back angles and back of the HBU33 antenna.

---------------------

As always , trees and tree leaves , plants and plant leaves , have a Negative Effect on Broadcast Tv Reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own , attic , roof and building.

Some and not all Negative Effects are.

Absorbing and Blocking Reception.

Multi-Path Reflecting Tv Signals Bouncing All Around.

The Best Practice for Reliable Reception is to install the HBU33 antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception including your own , attic , roof , building.

A ClearStream 2V should work. They should be available at your local Best Buy or Walmart store.

Aim it a bit to the left of Fordland initially since you have to also get KRBK's transmitter located near Sunshine and Hwy 65. Adjust as needed. Since you're behind a bit of a hill, exercise patience in trying multiple spots for the antenna to find the best available reception.

Don't be too surprised if your "attic" antenna doesn't perform well, they usually don't.
