Looking for the right antenna in South Florida

http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...1349d8fd30c5a4

Thats the tvfool report, I live in south florida where its flat...everywhere. I realllllly need a multidirectional antenna that I'm not going to have to mess with. The channels I really need are FOX, CBS, NBC, ABC...any input you guys have either from your experience in my area...or just because you know way more than me would be super appreciated. I am going to roof mount it at about 20-25 feet above ground or in my attic at about 12-15 feet if anyone thinks I can get away with it.

No need for omni-directional. Most of your stations are to your South. The Miami stations are 86 miles out at 180 degrees magnetic. You also have stations as near as 6.5 miles in the same general direction. These near by stations would overload an amplifier, so you need to do it with an antenna only, and due to the distanct to Miami, I would install a Winegard HD 7698P antenna, aimed to 180 degrees magnetic.

Mount at 25 feet. If you are hooking up multipul sets use a splitter with enough ports to supply all of your sets. If more than three sets and or long runs of coax are being used, you should install a distribution amplifier. Lots of lightning in Fla. so be sure to install a ground block in line with your coax and hook it up to your electrical service ground.

All of these devices are available at www.solidsignals.com.

ALL questions and answers about broadcast tv reception and More.

A simple reception situation. Many , many , many , many , many Tv stations/channels will be received.

Above the roof. Install a Winegard HD7696P antenna aimed at about 176 degree magnetic compass , in the middle of the groups of Tv stations to the south from 205 to 144 degrees magnetic compass.
Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Here are some over the top Heavy Duty High Quality antenna mounts , http://www.ronard.com/909911.html , http://www.ronard.com/34424560.html , http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html , http://www.ronard.com.

Buy the ronard antenna mounts at solidsignal by typing the word ronard in the solidsignal search box.

Here are some places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.winegarddirect.com , http://www.amazon.com , http://www.starkelectronic.com.

How many Tv's are/will be connected??

The Tv/s Must scan for the Broadcast Tv Channels sometimes named the 'Antenna Channels' or 'Air Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

DO NOT scan for cable tv channels.

The HD7696P is not as long (smaller) antenna then the HD7698P.

With the HD7696P antenna mounted above the roof you will receive the basics , and like it or not you will receive Many more channels.

Why??

Because all those Tv stations/channels are there and are strong signals and are easy to receive.

This is not the old days of Analog broadcast Tv of the past when people were happy to receive a few channels.

This is Digital Broadcast Tv and the channels will be received like it or not.

The GE Futura antenna is a bad antenna , return it or put it in the trash.

For one Tv connected use no splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected I recommend a http://www.hollandelectronics.com

HFS-2D 2 way splitter.

At solidsignal the HFS-2D is $2.99 , very low price for such a High Quality splitter.

However if you have a 2 way splitter then use what you have.

A common 2 way splitter will work Ok.

I do have a 2 way splitter left at my house by directtv...lol...Any thoughts on the Channel Master 3020

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_6593020...0.html?tp=3261

I have one sitting at the house, that I ordered before getting on here to solicit advice, but wasn't sure about putting up such a large antenna. But if it will save me from needing to return it and it will work well then I will put it up...if not I already have a return label from crutchfield

The Channel Master 3020 will work fine. Do not use any splitters from satellite. Replace with DTV splitters 50-1000 mhz.

The CM3020 will work Ok.

The CM3020 is Big All channel antenna,

All channel antennas receive All the Tv channels , VHF low band 2 thru 6 , VHF high band 7 thru 13 , UHF 14 thru 69.

You are ready for what ever Tv channels come your way.
