Help: ABC channel reception in 17601

Zipcode: 17601

I currently have a rabbit ear indoor antenna and am able to receive 6-8 on-the-air HDTV channels but not ABC , my wife loves ABC and
was wondering if anyone can provide some advice on how to tune ABC. I was able to receive ABC using same antenna in our old apartment which was 2 blocks in Feb'10, not sure what changed since then, any help here is much appreciated.

It is improbable that you will achieve reliable reception of any of the nearby ABC affiliates (WTHN - RF10 from Harrisburg, WPVI - RF6 from Philadelphia, or WMAR- RF38 from Baltimore) with any indoor antenna. Signal levels are low, interference levels are high, and any prediction for indoors reception is little more than an educated guess, at best.

A roof-mounted antenna that covers the correct RF channel listed above would be the minimum requirement. As each of those stations transmits on different bands (low-VHF, high-VHF, and UHF), each has a different requirement for the optimal antenna for reception.

You may wish to read the "Guidelines when asking for help" at the top of this forum section so that you know what information is needed for other forum participants use to make an informed recommendation for you.

Lightbulb Tv reception

Before helping I have more questions. Are you living in an apt. now , and if so in what directions are the windows and or balcony/patio facing , are you on the first floor , second floor , third floor , ? If you are in an apt. is the view in the direction of Harrisberg being blocked by other apt. buildings or other buildings . If you are in a house , is the house in a low place , or on a hill ? Go to the >>Start MAPS<< part of tvfool and see where the television transmitters are at. Your situation needs to be worked out one step at a time.
