Ant950e

Has anyone tried out the RCA ANT950E? Just wondering how it performs. I can't find any reviews online.

VOXX introduced that last winter at the CES show. Haven't seen or heard of it since its announcement until your question.

It looks like Menard's is the only retailer that is carrying it ATM. Just to note for folks around the county, Menard's is a regional chain and currently has stores in the upper Midwest only. For a map, see https://www.menards.com/main/storeLocator.html

I would venture to say that there are far, far better
choices costing less......

I was not able to find this model on the RCA web site. All I can offer is an observation based on the photo and Menards ad copy... The antenna appears to be nothing more than a couple of dipoles though the black rectangular shaped sections may well hide a couple more. Just a short step above an old fashion rabbit-ear style antenna. A built-in amplifier will not add to the antenna's performance, only deal with loss in the coax and splitters. The Menards ad copy says this in not amplified which is contradicted by the Parent Company's (Voxx) press release dated Jan 7, 2019 https://www.corpmagazine.com/news/20...ntenna-lineup/

I would expect the RCA ANT751R to perform as well or better. Unless one places an unusually high priority on cosmetic appearances I'd suggest passing on the ANT950E.
