Philadelphia-HD on the cheap. Comcast digital signal.

In Philadelphia, PA 19136 last night Comcast changed all our analog cable signals to digital.
This morning our broadcast channels look the same if we're using cable or antenna.

Comcast even kept the stations in order.

3,6,10,12,17,23,29,57,61,65 are all in HD. With an HDTV.

We pay $12@mo for Limited Basic Cable. If you don't
have an HDTV, then you get SD.

A bit annoyed as we just had a new antenna installed.

However our insurance agent is happy.

Tv Antennas and Reception

Are you saying that you prefer to pay $144 a year for what you get for free ? And why is your insurance agent happy ?

Sorry, but your point is muddled: why are you subscribing to basic-only cable for $12.00 a month when you can get the HD signals for free from your antenna?

Keep the antenna, for times when your $12 a month cable TV goes down in a thunderstorm.

HD from Comcast for $12@mo. New digital signal.

WLVT, WFMZ, Drexel TV, LaSalle TV, Public Access, others.

The new roof antenna replaced rabbit ears. They were pretty
good, except for WPVI and WHYY. VHF 6 and 12.

There was also the insurance issue. It wasn't a good
situation having the old antenna hanging off the
chimney. Had to make a decision to pay x dollars to have old
hardware removed or x + to install a new antenna.

Outages are split between Comcast and Peco.
They tend to be minor and short last lasting. Peco's
upgrading their substation, and Comcast has an equipment
depot just down the road.
