VHF LOS and UHF Single Direction Antenna Combo?

Hi All,

New to this and trying to figure things out...

Signal Report here: http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...1349d6964d7115
(link edit to work)

Setup:

Looking at an attic install (two storey home), with the TV in the basement. There will only be one tv in the house. No wiring, amps or antenna have been purchased/installed. Neighbourhood is mostly two storey homes, with some mature trees but nothing too large.

Channel Goals:

All LOS VHF (damn Canada not having things UHF). WPBS-DT, WWTI-DT, and WWNY-TV for sure, and if in the realm of possible WSTM-DT (NBC). It would be sweet to get more but I am guessing that will not be happening.

I'm mostly new to this so I guess I am looking for the following info:

1. Antenna recommendation (are there UHF/VHF combos)?
2. Will an attic install work? I'd rather not put up an outdoor antenna
3. Is there a requirement for an amp when running wires (co-ax?) from basement to attic?
4. Basic set up if multi antenna/amp is required as I am mostly clueless.

Thanks for the help!

Mike

With the mixture of UHF, VHF high and VHF low in analog and digital, and from so many directions, both near and far, the only set-up that makes sense would be an all channel Winegard 8200 antenna in a Channel Master 9521 rotor on the roof. I would not use a pre-amplifier as it may overload due to near by strong locals. If you are feeding more multipul sets and have long runs of coax, you should use a distribution amplifier.

This recommendation is based on the Current Plus Pending Applications Included for Digital Tv stations/channels for the American Tv stations.
Above the roof install a Winegard HD7696P antenna with a Winegard AP8700 preamp aimed at about 160 degree magnetic compass.

For reception of the Canada Tv stations aim a Winegard HD7000R antenna at about 300 degree magnetic compass.

The American and Canada Tv antennas and antenna systems are 2 Separate systems that Are Not connected together on to one coax.

2 Separate systems all the way to the location of the Tv where the 2 Separate coaxes will be connected to a remote control A/B antenna switch.

http://www.radioshack.com , #15-1968 , or , http://www.mcmelectronics.com , 32-4425.

Saveandreplay , also has the same A/B switch that MCM has.
