Ladies and Gents,

My wife and I just turned our Directv off and I installed a hand me down Metrostar antenna on the roof at our house here in Richlands. My UHF channels are well received, I'm even pulling some additional channels from the Raleigh market. I have the antenna ran through RG6 to a splitter on the outside of the house to 4 rooms wired when the house was built 5 years ago and the power supply for the antenna is ran back through the powerpass splitter.

My 2 VHF channels (9.1 and 12.1) are non-existent. Occasionally if the weather is right, I can see 12.1 (ABC) but I've never received 9.1 (CBS) even though they're located on the same towers as the UHF channels and only 19 and 32 miles away.

I'm looking for advice on what to purchase, point, or install so that I can get all of the major networks. I'm not really concerned about multiple markets and I have plenty of PBS coming in over the UHF. I'm more than willing to buy a new antenna or antennas if that's what I need to do. My antenna mast is on a tripod on top of the roof and our development was built on farm land, so there's very little trees or anything in the way.

I'd very much appreciate any advice you can give so that I can receive all of the locals and bask in the glory of not having a cable bill.

ANT-751 aimed at about 30 degrees, partway between the two stations at 20 and the group at 49 degrees. You won't need a preamp.

Install a , http://www.antennacraft.net.

HBU11 antenna , aimed at about 30 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Use a Real and Actual magnetic compass to aim antenna , do not trust a cell phone compass.

Remove All parts of the other antenna including a external amplifier if it has a external amplifier , and also remove the power injector/power supply.

The tvfool channel list and radar report shows the , Real channel that is

received and the channel list also shows the , (virt) virtual number .

The Real channel is what is transmitted and received.

Tv antennas are selected to receive the Real Channels.

(virt) virtual numbers are Not Real Channels , even if the virtual number is the same as the real channel.

The virtual number is what is displayed on the Tv screen.

When the Tv stations changed from Analog to Digital transmission , many Tv

stations changed to a different channel , however kept the Old channel number that is now a virtual number.

Both the , ANT751 and HBU11 antennas are designed to receive Real Channels , 7 thru 51.

Thanks for the suggestion. I understand all the numbers on the report, I was just identifying which channels I was having trouble with.

After I install the antenna and point it, I will report back with my findings.
