Help No UHF channels only VHF

Hi,

I recently put up a Winegard 7697p antenna for OTA reception (combined UHF/VHF). I get about 20 VHF channels (abc-7, 11, and 13 are the most important ones and they come in great). For some reason, I can't get NBC, CBS or FOX, all of which are UHF.

I live in Huntington, NY on long island about 30 miles from the Empire State Building. My report is:
http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...e7793d5ebe7779

My antenna is about 25 ft above ground with an RCA amp that works great, no splitters, and about a 60 ft. run of cable to my tv. My sony trinitron vega has its own built in tuner and is functioning properly.

I am on the downside of a hill with trees all around my property most of which I cannot cut down.

Any ideas are appreciated.

Steve

Tv Reception.

The following is a Teleview - Recommendation for Digital Broadcast Tv Reception.

Aim the antenna at about 260 degree magnetic compass direction.
Hills and trees to the south west??

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

The Tv Must Channel Scan for the Digital Broadcast Tv Channels , sometimes named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.

Remove ALL of the preamplifier , the outside part and the inside power supply/power injector. And have only connected the antenna and coax and Tv.

Does the RCA preamp have switchable inputs for VHF/UHF and or Combined input??

What is the model number of the Sony Tv??

I have a question , is WKOB-LD Real Digital VHF channel 02 , virtual number (42.3) http://www.hottvchannel.com , being received??

Any drop outs of Digital VHF channel 02 ??
How is reception during clear weather and stormy weather??
Day time and night time??

VHF low band channels 2 thru 6 are affected more by natural earth interference , like lightning and human made interference , electric and electronic noise.

Then the other Digital Tv channels of , VHF high band 7 thru 13 and UHF band 14 thru 51.

So I am interested in the reliability of Digital channel 02.

Have you tried just 'antenna --> coax --> TV'?

Thanks for those suggestions. Once it stops raining and the roof is dry I will bypass the amp and see what I get.
