Antenna suggestions?? 48 miles to FOX

Any antenna suggestions for my location? http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...99002e688fb00b

We just moved and it's our first time trying ota in lieu of cable. There are so many choices for antennas! I'm especially interested in fox, which is 48 miles away, so some of the smaller range antennas seem like they won't reach. Other than that, I'd be pretty happy with the green channels.

You have many channels that are LOS. The RCA ANT751 aimed to around 100 degrees magnetic will work quite well even on the Fox channel 48 miles out.

Tv Reception.

The Tv transmissions are -->Very Strong <-- at your location and are LOS = Line Of Sight.

Install a ANT751 above the roof aimed at about 80 degree magnetic compass reading.

80 degrees is a in between aim direction for reception of the Tv stations to the , north east , east , south east.

As always , the starting antenna aim direction is the --> starting antenna aim direction.

The antenna is then turned to the left and right to see if there is a direction that has better reception of the channels that are to be received , for your reception situation , that is 30 degrees to 140 degrees magnetic compass.

I suspect that about 80 degrees magnetic compass reading will be good.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Here are some above the roof antenna mounts , http://www.ronard.com/909911.html , http://www.ronard.com/34424560./html , http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html , http://www.ronard.com.

Buy the ronard antenna mounts at solidsignal by typing the word ronard in the solidsignal search box.

Here are some places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.amazon.com.

The Tv/s Must Channel Scan for the Broadcast Tv Channels sometimes named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.

For 1 Tv connected use no splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a common simple 2 way splitter.

For 3 Tv's connected use a common simple 3 way splitter.

As always antenna reception mileage numbers are a -->General<-- guide for the general public.

I make antenna recommendations of the received signal strength. The signal strengths at your location are Very Strong.

As always , trees and tree leaves that are close in the direction of reception reduce or block Tv reception.

Buildings that are close in the direction of reception reduce and block reception.

Other obstructions that are close in the direction of reception reduce and block reception.

It is best install/mount a antenna where there is the least amount obstructions.

You may need to play with the antenna direction. move between the recommended 80 and 100 degrees to assure good reception of your FOX station and all others.

We are up and running with the antenna you suggested attached to a former dish network mount. Thanks so much for the help!
