Rooftop suggestion Phoenix/Tucson

I need a suggestion for a roofmount antenna... Decent Signals but markets are about 125 degrees apart... My current installation is attic and I get intermittent breakup from both markets... Only interested in Digital signals... Total of 6 tuners in house, average 40ft runs of RG-6

Thanks in advance
Bruce

Tv Antennas and Tv Reception

Install a ANT751 or ANT751R antenna above the roof aimed at about 129 degree magnetic compass. Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Use a Channel Master CM3418 , 8 way distribution amplifier. Do Not use a preamplifier.

Here are some antenna mounts , http://www.ronard.com/909911.html , http://www.ronard.com/34424560.html , http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html , http://www.ronard.com.
Buy the ronard antenna mounts at solidsignal by typing the word ronard in the solidsignal search box or buy from ronard. Here are places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.channelmasterstore.com , http://www.amazon.com.

Tv Antennas and Tv Reception

The ANT751/R is not all that directional of a antenna , the ANT751/R receives all directions. The ANT751/R is aimed at the weakest stations the Tucson stations and will receive the Phoenix stations easely.

Here is a example but not the only example of a 75 ohm terminators that are installed on any unused outputs of the CM3418 distribution amplifier. http://www.solidsignal.com/pview.asp...ator)-(SPTERM)

There is no difference of the ANT751R and ANT751. I list them both because if I list one or the other then the question asker will come back with , what about the ANT751 or well what about the ANT751R. From now on I will say. ANT751 and ANT751R are the same antenna. As always manufactures make this change or that change or some other change.

And as always , mileage figures of antennas are generalizations.

Antennas are actually evaluated and selected by the the signal strength at the receive location and how much gain the Tv antennas needs to have or not have.

And how directional the antenna is.

For your reception situation the Tv stations are to the west and south east so a antenna that is not very directional is required.

For your reception situation the ANT751 or ANT751R is selected because it is not all that directional and the Tv transmissions are strong.

The Phoenix stations are VERY STRONG. The Tucson stations are weaker but are Still Strong.

DO NOT use a preamplifier. The Tv transmissions are Vary Strong to Strong at your location. A preamplifier will overload and be the cause of bad reception or no reception of some channels.
