Antenna suggestion

Here's my coworker's report:
http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...46ae98e01b7e5f

He's all in the green. So I'm thinking something simple like an indoor antenna.

However he also has an old satellite dish installed over his patio. He was thinking he could take that down and put a small outdoor antenna there. He'd reuse the rg6 that runs to the satellite. So thoughts on something relatively unobtrusive that can mount over his patio?

The San Diego market often requires a 'two-antenna' solution. In this case an RCA ANT-751 may work well enough. Alternately, consider the Antennas Direct Clear Stream 5. It was designed with H-VHF in mind but proved to have decent UHF performance.

I would opt for the two antenna option, an Antenna Direct DB4e, Antennacraft Y5713 and a UHF/VHF combiner. Face the UHF antenna at 140° then fine tune the aim from there. Point the H-VHF antenna at 205° as the starting aim point. I would not try to mount both on a satellite J-pole, it's not tall enough to allow for adequate separation, 3' minimum.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
