It sounds like you may already own an indoor antenna. True? (You mentioned "the rabbit ears")
An analog only TV will not be made digital capable with the addition of an antenna, even if the antenna is sold as 'HD-ready' or 'digital-ready'. Does your television have a tuner capable of decoding digital television (ATSC) signals? If not do you have a DTV converter?
I would suggest a Winegard HD7000. I would point it toward the SE and expect it to receive the signals from that direction and also the stronger signals from the NW. You should not need to use a rotator.
If the satellite coax has remained dry internally, it can be re-used in this application.
