pre amp overload?

Greetings,

Hopefully this link to the signal analysis works:
http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...2c15283eaefed4

As you can see channel 41 is very strong while the other channels are weak. My concern is if I add a preamp at the antenna the amp will be overloaded by channel 41. My thought to avoid this overload is to put a trap between the antenna and the pre amp. If this is the proper course, add a channel 41 notch filter, the next question is where do I buy one of those?

The antenna is a Channel Master extremetenna 80.
Bandwith 174 to 216 and 470 to 700 MHz
VHF Gain 5dB
UHF Gain 12dB
Front to Back Ratio 18dB
Impedance 75 Ohm

Regards
Jerry

Hi Jerry; Your channel 41 notch filter can work. Such filters are custom made by Tinlee in Toronto, ONT or Microwave Filter in Syracuse, NY.

Another approach is to use an antenna that drops the level of channel 41 below the overload point while it is aimed at the other UHF stations. In your case the main stations that you want are 30 degrees off axis from channel 41. One specific model antenna has a null at 30 degrees, the DB-8. (Not the DB-8e). Then get a preamp such as the TVPRAMP-1R. Continue to use your existing antenna for VHF.
