Albany NY - antenna recommendation for friend

Here is the link to my friends tvfool report. He is looking to install an antenna in his attic, however he has limited space. He has seen my hd7015 and knows that it will not work in his attic. Can anyone make an antenna recommendation that will still pick up channel 6?

Thanks,
Dan

Above the roof in such a manner that reception is not blocked in all directions by the roof and house , install a Winegard HD7082P antenna aimed at about 260 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing.html.

As always , the starting aim direction of a antenna is the -->starting aim direction of a antenna.

The aim direction can then be adjusted for best reception.

Most Digital Tv's have a built in Signal Strength Meter and some Digital Tv's also have a Signal Quality Meter.

No preamplifier is required.

For 1 Tv connected use No splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a simple common 2 way splitter.

Do not use coax boots that go on the coax to keep water out of outside connections.

The coax boots fill up with water and keep the water inside of the boots where the water will damage the connections the boot is supposed to be protecting.

Use http://www.coaxseal.com , http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/3M-...T86?Pid=search.

As always , trees and tree leaves do a good job of , reflecting , absorbing , blocking , OTA= Over The Air , Digital Broadcast Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own roof and house.

It is best to install the HD7080P antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception including your own roof and house.

The Tv's Must channel Scan for the Digital Broadcast Tv Channels , often named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv Setup Menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the Air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

Some Digital Tv's will automatic channel scan for cable tv channels.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.

Go into the Tv Setup Menu and select , 'Air Channels' / 'Antenna Channels'.
