Need Help in selecting an antenna in Northern NY

Hi,
I am looking for help in selecting an Antenna. I could mount on the roof or upper deck, where in both situations would by over 20ft high from ground level. I also have clear line of site and no other buildings or structures close by.
My analysis report is:
http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...5b9458ae13c7ae

I would like to be able to at least get channels 7, 23, 31.
Any antenna recommendations would be appreciated.
Thanks

Can you generate a reception report based on 50' AGL? The path profile of the signals to the south look like they may improve with a bit more antenna height.

Thanks for the second TVFR...

Conditions do improve as you go up. However, given the added expense and complexity of mounting at 50', I'd try at a lower level that is easier to access. If the need is proven, you can always add a guyed push-up mast.

Consider the Winegard HD7698P pointed south. An Antennas Direct PA-18 preamplifier would be indicated as well.

The signal strengths of the USA and Canada Tv stations/channels are Very Weak Signal Strengths.

-------------

For reception of USA , Digital Broadcast Tv Stations /Channels.

WNYF-CD , Real UHF channel 18 has , FOX and CBS.
WWNY-TV , Real VHF high band channel 7 has the same networks as WNYF , CBS and Fox.

----------

WNPI-DT , Real UHF channel 23 is the same PBS as WPBS Real UHF channel WPBS-DT Real UHF channel 41.

WWTI-DT Real UHF channel 21 is , ABC and The CW.

------------------------------

For Initial Testing of reception have only 1 Tv connected , No splitters.

It is a tough call on antennas and preamplifier recommendations.

My final choice is the same antenna and preamplifier as , GUM's , recommendation.

Aim the HD7698P antenna at about 197 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim the antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Use a Real and Actual magnetic compass to aim antenna.

-----

As always , the starting antenna aim direction is the -->starting antenna aim direction.

The antenna aim can be adjusted for best reception.

To that end , Most Digital Tv's have a Signal Strength Meter and some Digital Tv's also have a Signal Quality Meter.

------------------------------

Tvfool shows.

CKWS-DT , Real VHF channel 11 , The CBC , is a little further to the South West

and might be received reliably.

If not then the antenna can be turned a little more toward the South West to improve reception.

Without losing reception of the Very Weak Signal Strengths , WWTI-DT and WPBS-DT.

A second antenna system will provide several Canada Tv Stations/Channels.

Install a Winegard HD7084P antenna aimed at about 10 degree magnetic compass direction.

Install a Antennas Direct , PA-18 , preamplifier.

This second antenna system Is Not connected to the USA antenna system.

At each Tv location a Remote control A/B antenna switch is used to change antenna systems.

http://www.mcmelectronics.com.

Model Number 32-4425 .

--------------------------------------------------

Or use No A/B switch.

Use a Separate Tuner/Recorder connected to the USA or Canada antenna system.

http://www.epvision.com.

http://www.channelmasterstore.com.

---------------------------------------------------

As a Test of Canada Tv stations reception.

The HD7698P antenna can be aimed at the Canada Tv Stations to the North at about 10 degree magnetic compass direction.

And scan for channels.

--------------------------------------------------

Here are some above the roof antenna mounts.

http://www.ronard.com/909911.html.
Use the , ronard(911) , 5 foot tripod antenna mount.

http://www.ronard.com/Tripods%200703/4712.html.
Use the , ronard(4712-50-10) , 10 foot tripod antenna mount.

----------

Home Depot has 10 foot 6 inch lengths of , TOP RAIL , chain link fence PIPE , makes good antenna mast pipe.

Cost is 10 dollars.

---------------------------------------------------

For 1 Tv connected use No splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a , Holland Electronics , HFS-2D , 2 way splitter.

For 3 Tv's connected use a , Holland Electronics , HFS-3D , 3 way splitter.

Buy the , HFS-2D and HFS-3D , splitters at , http://www.hollandelectronics.com , or , http://www.amazon.com.

----------------------------------------------------

Here are some places to buy antennas and etc. .

http://www.amazon.com.

----------------------------------------------------
