Best antenna for my area

Hello everyone,

Newbie to the ota antenna game here!

I live in the GTA area near the lake with few if any obstructions antenna will be pointed towards the lake.

http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...de65a04c7bd118

I am considering a few antenna options as follows:

channel master cm5020 - masterpiece
channel master 4228hd
wine-guard hd7698p
wine guard hd8200u

i'm really not sure if these antennas are the best for my area as i want to get the best possible reception and only do this install once . It is for one tv and the coaxial runs for about 40', i might add another tv later which would have an additional 30' coaxial length (but not yet) not sure if i need a preamp before or after extra tv added (If so i was looking at the wineguard or channel master brands). Also i was considering buying a rotor motor namely the channel master cn9521a, as i would like to pick up all available channels that i can since i intend to do this install only once lol. Would this motor be necessary?

Thank in advance

Regards,
Gary

antenna info

hi,

my home is a detached two story brick home with shingles, very close to the lake with few if any obstructions. I will be installing on rooftop with rotor motor 5' mast approximate height is about 30', coax around 40' one tv, possibly in the future an additional 30' coax and splitter. In regards to my antenna im looking for primarily UHF (digital stations) the larger antennas i mentioned are too big and perhaps overkill. I was seriously considering the channel master 4228hd, unsure about need for a preamp, and proper grounding.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Gary

Because the house has brick and metal siding the antennas will be mounted above the roof.
This recommendation is based on Current Plus Pending Applications Included of the Digital Channels tvfool radar report.
For the best do it once installation. Install a Winegard HD7696P antenna aimed at about 170 degree magnetic compass for reception of USA and Canada digital stations/channels.
And a Winegard HD7694P antenna aimed at about 67 degree magnetic compass for the reception of Canada digital stations/channels.
Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.
The HD7696P antenna will have a Winegard AP8700 preamp.

The HD7694P antenna will not have a preamp.

The coax wiring will be separate from each antenna to the location of the Tv.

And at the location of the Tv will be a remote control A/B antenna switch from MCM electronics #32-4425. The remote control A/B antenna switch is also available at saveandreplay.

Here are places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.saveandreplay.com , http://www.trentondistributors.com , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.amazon.com , http://www.amazon.ca , http://www.canadapost.ca/shopper. http://www.mcmelectronics.com .

Antenna rotors are Not channel surfing friendly , must wait for antenna to rotate. A/B switch is channel surfing friendly , press the buttons on the remote to change antennas.
