Ok, I still haven't pushed the BUY button just yet.
The enemy of a good plan is the search for a perfect plan!

Sounds like my plan is to start with a C5 + FM trap + a high quality 2-way splitter, some quality QS RG-6, snap-n-seal connectors and hope for the best. Hopefully the C5 is wide enough to capture Ch 7 & 9, and if I'm real lucky most of the UHF channels I'm going after.

If not covering UHF well enough, fallback plan would be to add a dedicated UHF antenna (model TBD) using the diplexer.

Any objections, let me know in the next 2 hours. Otherwise, please stay quiet! (too late after I buy them!)

Update: C5, 100' Belden 1694A, snap-n-seal connectors, 2 FM traps, and a low loss digital bi-directional splitter have been ordered!

It's probably going to take me a few weeks to get delivery and find time to get it installed. More to come then.

Thanks for all of the help!

Status Update:

c5 antenna has been installed for ~3 weeks now. I had to move a roof collar tie to make room. I aimed it at approximately 200-205* magnetic. I had a harder time than expected aiming it since my iPhone's compass was totally off when in the attic (not sure why), and my magnetic compass was being affected the magnets in my attic whole house fan motor (even though the antenna is mounted 8' away from the motor). It's somewhere in the neighborhood of 200-205*.

Upon first scan, I had 62 active channels. After spending a few hours researching each station's programming content, I narrowed down my active channel list to 24 stations. All channels are coming in very good except as noted in the chart below.

I think I'm going to surrender on the idea of pulling in Ch 9.1 - it's watchable but with video artifacts every 10 seconds or so on good days; not tunable on bad days. I really just wanted this channel for NHL hockey, but I think I may need to solve that need with other solutions. Giving up 9.1 would allow me to adjust the aim from 200* to something closer to 230*, which will hopefully address the minor artifacts I'm seeing on Ch 30.1 & 50.1 (both 268* magn). Only challenge I may run into is that pointing that far west starts aiming through my brick veneer gable end - but it is what it is.

CHlineup.jpg has my 24 channels sorted by channel #.
CHlineup2.jpg has those same 24 sorted by azimuth *.
