Do solar panels decrease antenna performance?

Hi.
I live in a deep-fringe area (nearest real station is 70 miles) and I put a really nice antenna into the attic (built it in before the ceiling plasterboard was put in...can't change it now...). As the house was being constructed, I got a ton of channels.
Then the solar panels went in -- 24 of them pretty much right in the path to the signals I want. And once the house was completed, I got a lot less channels.
Maybe the solar array is like a giant ground plane somehow absorbing signal?
Or it's a big reflector that's causing signal cancellation?
Any ideas?
Anybody else experienced this? If so...is there any solution?
