Channel 8 used to be the CBS affiliate in Indianapolis; however, on Jan. 1, 2015 channel 4 became the CBS affiliate and channel 8 adopted an expanded news and independent programming status. The TV transmitter database still shows the 'old' data rather than the 'new' data for these two Indianapolis channels.
I should have added that channel 29 (WTTK) and channel 4 (WTTV) both transmit the same content. Thus, in addition to channel 4 becoming the CBS affiliate, so did channel 29. Both used to be affiliates of the CW network.
Perhaps I should have been a bit more specific. It does appear that both WTTK and WTTV in Indianapolis have been updated to show CBS as their network affiliate. However, WISH (Channel 8) has NOT been updated to show they are now Independent rather than remaining a CBS affiliate.
