Help with antenna shopping

I was debating attic vs. rooftop antenna, but I'm not sure which is best for me.

Thanks in advance

If you have a clear line of sight looking east toward Seattle, an attic install may work. Your attic would need to be friendly to RF signals... many are not.

If you have the typical Douglas Fir, Cedar and other native NW trees in the way, step up to the reality that a large combination antenna will be needed.

A premium option would be the Antennas Direct DB8e + Antennacraft Y5713.

A single antenna such as the Antennacraft HBU-33 would be the smallest I'd consider, their HBU-44 & HBU-55 would not be overkill.

I have a rambler style, probably fir T&G decking and composite 3 tab roofing, 2 layers deep. I also have a handy bracket bolted on top of my carport leftover from an old Dish Network bracket and coax I could use fairly easily. I do not have LOS to Seattle. I'm 2 blocks inside wooded areas and furth uphill to housing with about 20'-30' of hill elevation blocking the Seattle side. I already pick up the KCPQ easily to the west with a cheap antenna from Gold Mountian...but I need to upgrade and I was hoping to spend $100 if I can get something pretty solid. I have no idea which antenna would be best suited or what a good price would even be.

Thanks very much for your help.

-------

The Tv's Must Channel Scan for the , OTA=Over The Air , ATSC-Digital Broadcast Tv Stations/Channels , often named the ~ DTV Channels ~ Antenna Channels ~ Air Channels ~ in the Tv Setup Menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the Air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

Some digital tv's will Automatic channel scan for cable tv channels.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.

Go into the Tv Setup Menu and select ~ DTV Channels ~ Antenna Channels ~ Air Channels ~.

Scan for , ATSC-Digital Broadcast Tv Stations/Channels.

With wooded terrain above you, you need to consider using a big antenna... Even the combination of an Antennas Direct 91XG + Antennacraft Y10713 is not overkill.
