Suggestions on setup?

Like many others on this forum I am about to cut the cord (cable)! Here’s where I am at…

Out of these channels, I really only care about NBC, FOX, ABC, CBS, and PBS.

I’ve purchased an Antennas Direct C2 at a local Best Buy to try out. It works well in an upstairs bedroom standing next to the TV and generally pointed towards the west/northwest direction. This made me hopeful! However, when I take it downstairs it doesn’t pick up everything I’d like.
For a number of reasons, I’d like to put this antenna in the attic (but I will try the roof mount if it comes to that, however, not until it warms up out there). If I got all of the channels I want in the upstairs bedroom, shouldn’t I get everything in the attic? It looks like I should point this thing between 282-284 to get all of the channels. FOX is very close (in proximity) but 301 degrees.

I’ve also purchased this amplifier/splitter which will be placed in the basement about a 50-60 foot run from the antenna. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 From here (basement splitter/amp) I will connect three TVs. Power will be supplied in the basement at the splitter. Is this correct? There is no power in the attic.

You already own the C2, so no point suggesting another antenna until you prove the need for one. Your aim point is reasonable as a starting point.

Ideally, the amplifier would be located near the antenna, it can't overcome the loss produced by cable on the input side. The PCT-MA2-M (one input / one output) with remote power option would be ideal. You could mount the amplifier in the attic, while powering it from the basement or another convenient mid-point. Then in the basement, use a passive splitter to feed the TVs.

Everything works! Just set everything up and the TVs got all channels. Have the amp/splitter in the basement running two TVs (but room for two more). Time to call Comcast and say "bye bye"!
