getting more channels

I got the available channel list from the site. I bought a DB2 antenna and put it indoor. I can only receive WJCT, WTLV-DT(NBC) and WJXX-DT(ABC). Why couldn't I get Fox and CBS? Their towers are next to ABC and NBC according to the map.

How many sets?

How much and what type coax?

How many amplifiers, make & model?

Building construction... brick, wood, concrete. metal siding or foil faced insulation?

I'd start with antenna aiming.

The aiming of the antenna is complicated because you are trying to receive VHF stations on a UHF only antenna. The existing aim may be optimum for the VHF stations, which you are receiving OK, and causes the intended UHF frequencies to be attenuated.

Ultimately, you should get a VHF/UHF antenna.

Please take the time to read the signal analysis FAQ that is linked to at the top of the report. You will see that you have three VHF stations in the green part of your list. Prior to the analog shutdown, those three may have been using UHF frequencies for digital broadcasting, but they are not now.

TG is right, you need a high VHF/UHF antenna. Something on the order of a Winegard HD7694P or an AntennaCraft HBU-33 should get everything you want.

Yes... confirm the aim. Panel style antennas should 'face' the transmitter they are aimed at. http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html

Did you use the matching transformer (balun) supplied with the DB-2? Do you have any reused or salvaged parts in the system? Did you have to install coax connectors on any of the cables in your system? What about the previous questions?

As you look at your TVF Report, the second column titled 'Real' lists the RF channel number the station is broadcast on. Chanel numbers 7 through 13 are known as High-VHF channels. Each of the stations you listed are in that band.

I would expect to need a H-VHF antenna in addition to the UHF only DB-2 (a good choice for your location). I'm thinking an Antennacraft Y5713 which can be combined into the existing coax with a UVSJ.

To keep things compact you could simply switch to a combination (dual-band) antenna like the Antennacraft or HBU-33.

Until you sort out the problem with the existing antenna, don't rush out and buy another antenna though. If mounted outside, facing NW, the DB-2 should receive all of the UHF channels from the top of your report down to WPXC with one possible exception, WQXT.

You say the DB-2 is inside, have you tried it outside?

If the antenna is mounted on the roof possible solutions are:

Add a Y5-7-13 to the DB-2 with a UVSJ
Replace the DB-2 with one of the following:
HBU-33
HD7694P
ANT751

Out of curiosity, where did you learn that all your stations were on UHF?
