				Outdoor Antenna Suggestions for Toronto

Could anyone suggest a good outdoor antenna for East York, Toronto. I'm considering a rotor and it will be roof mounted on a two story home.

Alternately, anyone care to share their opinion on an attic set up?

Thanks!

You're very close to your local transmitters, so a modest antenna, like the RCA ANT-751, will be just fine. If you want to chase the Buffalo stations, you will need a much larger UHF antenna, like the Antennas Direct DB-8, Winegard HD8800, or Antennacraft U8000, that can be aimed right at them. Run separate feeds from the antennas to an A/B switch at the TV.

				Rotation?

This suggestion doesn't seem to work on a rotor. Should I be worried?

Anyone have luck with an attic set up?

Why would you need to rotate them? The RCA is for your local channels (240 degrees) and the other UHF antenna is for Buffalo (165 degrees). Aim them in the proper directions and leave them alone. If you don't want the Buffalo stations, just buy the RCA antenna. You will not need to turn it.
You could just buy one of the UHF antennas I recommended and rotate it between the two positions. Your choice.

Before you spend any money, look over the indoor and outdoor reception results for your area at digitalhome.ca.

How many Tv's are/will be connected?? . You will not be chasing the American stations , you will be receiving the American stations. For my recommendation I need to know if more then one Tv will be connected. How many Tv's will be connected??

Ok here goes. . The Canada Tv stations/channels are Very Strong I suggest a Channel Master CM2016 antenna aimed at about 245 degree magnetic compass , No amplifier will be used because the Canada stations are very strong. . For the American stations I recommend a Antennas Direct 91XG with a Winegard HDP-269 preamp aimed at about 170 degree magnetic compass. A coax will go from each antenna to the location of the Tv. And a remote control A/B switch will switch from one antenna and the other antenna so you can select the 2 antennas with out getting out of your chair. http://www.saveandreplay.com has the antennas the preamp and the remote control A/B switch. And also has coax cable and etc. .
