San Ramon, CA Reception Help

Hello,

I'm at the current location in the San Ramon valley. I mounted the following equipment in the attic space.

http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...1ddaac5d644c71

-Antennas Direct CPA19 ClearStream Pre-Amplifier Kit
-Antennas Direct ClearStream4 HDTV Antenna

I'm able to get plenty of channels but really only care for the major networks. I get 5.1 CBS, 2.1 FOX, 9.1 PBS but for some reason I'm not getting 7.1 ABC, or 11.1 NBC, even though the these station signals are coming from the same west locations as the other three mentioned.

I'm not sure what I'm missing here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

KGO and KNTV are VHF stations, the C4 is a UHF antenna with extremely limited VHF reception.

You could try adding the C2 VHF reflector kit as an add-on (it can replace one of the two C4 reflectors) and see it that resolves the issue, otherwise, it will be necessary to move either add a high-VHF antenna or to start over with a combo 7-51 antenna.

Send me a private message with your name, address, and email address and we'll hook you up with a kit (and instructions) to see if the problem can be easily fixed.

I purchased and added the C2 VHF reflector kit and now I get 1 of the two missing VHF channels clearly, 7.1 KGO-TV, ABC. Unfortunately it does not pick up ther other channel VHF I want, 11.1 NBC. Based on the TV analysis, it says this channel's path is 2edge which suggests I need to add a high-vhf antenna. Do you have any suggestions on which model?

You might try an FM filter between the antenna and the pre-amp.

Other than that, adding the C5 or a similar high-VHF antenna would be the logical next step.

Because of the manner in which VHF signal's diffraction is different from UHF signals, the VHF antenna may need to be further away from the UHF antenna.

With Winegard's discontinuation of the YA1713 your options for H-VHF cut-to-band antennas are the Antennas Direct C5 and the Antennacraft Y5715 & Y10713. (And DIY home built).

Hi, I am in Pleasanton, just a few miles south of San Ramon. I am happy to see someone successful at piercing that massive hill to get to Sutro tower.

How high did you place your setup ? I looked at 20 and 40 ft in the simulation tool, and 40 ft was a lot better, but pretty high as well.

There appears to also be a few VHF low stations on Sutro as well if you are curious, but the only options I could find for that application so far look similar to the Antenna Craft HD1850, which isn't that heavy, but it is pretty large.

I have the same problem and can't get channel 11. I get all others that I want very clear. Its just NBC that will not come in. I live in north eastern Pleasanton. I have the following about 30 feet above ground level with an RCA amp and the UHF place 4 feet from the VHF:

http://www.amazon.com/RCA-ANT751-Dur...s=rca+ant+1650

http://www.amazon.com/Antennas-Direc...gh+VHF+antenna

Am I just screwed on NBC? I have a feeling that if these antennas don't pick it up with my terrain challenges that non will.

I am a cord cutter with a OTA compatible Tivo system as a receiver (wanted a DVR with OTA) I get Hulu, Netflix and Amazon prime and I own a chromecast. Can I get all of the prime NBC shows on Hulu? Then it doesn't really mater. Thanks to anyone who can help us.
