New Location, need new antenna

http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...5b949eeee3f7bc
The house is a two story colonial with 10 ft ceilings + attic. I used 30ft for antenna height.

What would it take to pickup WWMT? I'm planning on rooftop mounting an antenna again, thinking right at 274. Would I loose the LOS channels to the South and East if I went with a more directional antenna than the ANT751? I don't care about W27CN-D or WSMH.

If WWMT is not likely, would something like the Winegard MS-2002 work for LOS stations? Or just grab another ANT751.

Install a ,http://www.antennacraft.com.

HBU44 antenna above the the roof aimed at about 274 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Use a Real and Actual magnetic compass to aim antenna , do not trust a cell phone compass.

Install the HBU44 above the roof in such a manner that reception will not be , obstructed , impeded , blocked , buy the roof and building in all directions.

Many Strong signal strength Tv stations of other directions will be received by the HBU44 antenna aimed at about 274 degree magnetic compass direction.

---------

Buy the HBU44 antenna and etc. .

http://www.antennacraft.com.

http://www.amazon.com.

http://www.summitsource.com.

---------

A antenna system amplifier will most likely not be required.

---------

For 1 Tv connected use No splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a 2 way splitter.

For 3 Tv's connected use a 3 way splitter.

Here are some above the roof antenna mounts.

http://www.ronard.com/909911.html.
Use the , ronard(911) , 5 foot tripod antenna mount.

http://www.ronard.com/34424560.html.
Use the , ronard(4560) , eave antenna mount.

http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html.
Measure around the chimney and use a , ronard(2212) , ronard(2218) , ronard(2224) .

Buy the ronard antenna mounts at , http://www.ronard.com , or , http://www.amazon.com.

-----

Home Depot has , 10 foot 6 inch lengths of 1 and 3/8 inch diameter . TOP RAIL , chain link fence , PIPE , that is good for antenna Mast/Pipe . The cost is low at about 10 dollars.

---------------------------

As always , trees and tree leaves , plants and plant leaves , have a Negative Effect on Broadcast Tv Reception in the directions of reception and so do buildings and other obstructions in the directions of reception including your own roof and building in the directions of reception.

Some and not all Negative Effects are.

Absorbing and Blocking Reception.

Multi-Path Reflecting Tv Signals Bouncing All Around.

The Best Practice for Reliable Reception is to install the HBU44 antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception including your own roof and building.

Thumbs up

Got the HBU44 installed yesterday in a tripod mount on the roof.

I'm getting all the channels in the 268-278 degree range and all the "Green" signals. 13 real channels for a total of 35 virtual channels. Woohoo!

Thanks!

I am curious about WWMT , Real VHF high band channel 8.1-2 , (virt) virtual number (3.1-2) , CBS and CW.

Real Digital Channel 8.1 , CBS.

and

Real Digital Sub Channel 8.2 , CW.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WWMT.

How is reception stability , the signal strength is Weak at 11.4 NM(dB) , 2 Edge Path Obstructions=hills/mountains , and 52.9 miles distant.

Most Digital Tv's have a Signal Strength Meter and some Digital Tv's also have a Signal Quality Meter.

------------------------------------------------

Here is the main reason for Real Channels and virtual numbers.

Before the change to Digital Transmission and Reception.

As a example , WWMT transmitted on Analog VHF low band channel 3 , CBS.

For many years channel 3 was WWMT , CBS.

So the 3 became a -->Channel Brand of the Tv Station.

And the 3 is now a , virtual number

because

When the Tv Station changed to Digital Transmission the Tv Station is now transmitting on VHF high band channel 8.

-------------------------------------------------

(Digital Transmission and Reception , more then one Tv channel can be transmitted and received.)

( The Analog transmission and reception , one channel is transmitted and received.)

Tv antennas receive Real channels , be them Digital or Analog.

-------------------------------------------------

If you are not confused yet , then is should push you over the edge.

Virtual numbers are not real channels even if the virtual number is same as the Real Channel.
