Thank you very much in advance. Planning on a chimney mast antenna. I've got a very old antenna that I'd like to replace.

What should I get and any other info. please.

I've "cut the cable" and plan to use the existing coaxial connections that previously were for cable to run 4 TVs.

A antenna system amplifier is not required.

For 1 Tv connected use No splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a simple common 2 way splitter.

For 4 Tv's connected use a simple common 4 way splitter.

Are you looking to get the Baltimore station too?

I'd start with an Antennas Direct Clearstream 2V (*not* the 2) because it has hi-vhf capabilities that you will need for DC 7 & 9 & Baltimore 11 & 13.

Aim it at magnetic 60 degrees, which will put the DC towers in a strong backside lobe

Test it with 1 run of known good cable to 1 tv to start.

If you are going to feed 4 tv's , you will probably need some form of amplification to overcome cable loses.
The RCA TVPRAMP1R is well thought of, and seems to handle the potential for signal overload quite well.

Do you just want the DC stations, or DC and Baltimore?

Also, do you speak Spanish? (If you don’t, you do not need channel 6; it is being operated as a Spanish radio station.)

I won’t say anything about UHF, the spread of the DC UHF stations is a bit frustrating, but for VHF stations there is a neat trick you can use to get the DC VHF stations and the Baltimore VHF stations.

Channelmaster still has limited stock of the VHF jointennas. A CH12 jointenna will join channels 11 to 13 (from personal experience), or a CH8 jointenna will join channels 7 to 9. DC’s VHF stations are 7 and 9 (with a low power 8, and ion repeated on 12; ion is available in the DC UHF group). All that together means with 2 VHF antennas and a jointenna you can get the VHF stations from two markets on one coax.
I would point a Y10-7-13 at Baltimore (50 degrees true/61 degrees magnet) for 11 WBAL NBC and 13 WJZ CBS. I would point a Y5-7-13 (or a Y10-7-13) at DC (170 degrees true/181 degrees magnet) for 7 WJLA ABC and 9 WUSA CBS. I would order a channel 12 jointenna from http://www.channelmasterstore.com/JO..._p/cm-0582.htm and the DC antenna would go to the broadband input, the Baltimore antenna would go to the channel 12 input, and that could go to the VHF input on a UVSJ or signal level appropriate preamp’ VHF input.
(That would also work to join an Y10-7-13 pointed at Baltimore with a channel 7 to 51/69 antenna pointed at DC.)
