I live 9.5 miles West of Carter Mountain. My outdoor roof antenna is properly aimed at 134 degrees (magn). I have no problems with any Charlottesville channels except WCAV 19 HD-1 and HD-3 which are virtually unwatchable (occasionally 1 or 2 bars). However Channel 19 HD-2 shows a steady signal strength of 5 bars. I realize that Channel 19 uses a directional antenna and I may be in a null, but why does the HD-2 come in stronger than the HD-1? Thanks.

Channel 19.2 is actually a subchannel of WAHU-27 (real channel 40), so that is why you are seeing this analomy. Channels 19.1 & 19.3 are on a completely different frequency. You may need to try raising or lowering your antenna a few inches to get it out of the the dead spot for WCAV-19 (real channel 19)

See this link & click on the stations in your area to see the actual frequencies to better understand what is actually going on.

Thanks for the quick response. Now everything makes sense except for why Gray Television would want to do this. I'm confident I can make the proper corrections now that I know what I'm dealing with. Thanks again.
