Newbie help! Why do i get Zero digital signals with 3 different antennas?

I don't consider myself an idiot when it comes to AV tech, but I'm frustrated beyond all h$ll . I want to cut the cord on my sat. subscription, but I can't seem to get any antennas to work in my attic or even rooftop. Here's my signal survey: http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...03f30f39257249

Here's what I've done so far, to no avail. What am I doing wrong?

1) Purchased 3 different antennas (from Meijer and Radio Shack). Ranges on the box very from 40-70 mile range. The stations from Detroit are less than 50 miles from my house. Also purchased 2 different signal amplifiers.

2) Climbed into my attic (boy it's hot in there!). Connected the coax from the bedroom directly to the antenna. Did a channel scan, but only detected 3 analog stations. Added a signal amplifier, but no more channels detected.

3) Bought two more antennas and tried them all. Can only detect the same 3 analog stations! Even climbed up on my roof, connected to the coax from by sat dish, and still had no digital channels detected. I have many tall trees between me and Detroit (Northeast), but they are about as tall as my house. So I figured if I stood on my roof the antenna(s) would work. But nope, nothing.

My TV is digital, but is about 8-10 years old.

Very few TVs of that vintage have digital tuners in them.

I just realized that as well. I should not assume that Digital Ready means it has a digital tuner! I will buy a converter box tonight and try it again.

The confusing thing is that I can pick up 3 canadian stations, so I figured that since I was getting something, my TV was OK. But I only discovered today that those 3 stations are analog, not digital. I think the converter should do the job.

"Digital Ready" means that it's ready for your external digital signal source such as a cable or satellite set-top box, fed in by DVI, HDMI, or component cables. It also means it doesn't have a digital tuner.

The inexpensive digital converter boxes (under $60) are standard def only.

The default antenna height is 10 feet. Run the tvfool report with the antenna height as high as the roof top.

The boxes that I have listed I have done way more research then a sane person would the boxes are reliable dependable. The Access HD DTA 1080 that gcd0865 has listed has proven to be a defective box , I have replaced the DTA 1080 in customers homes it gets hot and stops working. I did a lot of research to find the boxes I have listed so that people will have dependable and reliable boxes that serve a wide varity of purpose.
