Above The Peak Of The Roof install a , Antennas Direct , DB8e , UHF channels 14 thru 51 antenna.
Aim 1 panel at about 335 degree magnetic compass direction.

Aim the 2nd panel at about 260 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html

------------

Also Above The Peak Of The Roof install a , www.antennacraft.net , Y10-7-13 , VHF high band channels 7 thru 13 antenna aimed at about 260 degree magnetic compass direction.

---------------

Install a , RCA , TVPRAMP1-R , preamplifier.

----------------

Connect the DB8e , UHF antenna to the UHF connection of the RCA preamp.

Connect the Y10-7-13 , VHF antenna to the VHF connection of the RCA preamp.

-------------------

The Tv Must Channel Scan for the , OTA=Over The Air , ATSC-Digital Broadcast Tv Stations/Channels , often named the ~ Antenna Channels ~ DTV Channels ~ ATSC Channels ~ Air Channels ~ in the Tv Setup Menu because the Tv's transmissions travel through the Air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

Some digital Tv's will Automatic channel scan for cable Tv channels.

DO NOT channel scan for cable Tv channels.

Go into the Tv Setup Menu and select ~ Antenna Channels ~ DTV Channels ~ ATSC Channels ~ Air Channels ~.

Channel scan for the , ATSC-Digital Broadcast Tv Channels.

-------------------

As always , trees and tree leaves , plants and plant leaves , have a Negative Effect on Broadcast Tv Reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own roof and house.

Negative Effects sich as and not limited to.

Absorbing and Blocking Tv Reception.

Multi-Path Reflections Signals Bouncing All Around.

The Best Pratice is to install the antennas at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception including your own roof and building.

Hello TBK,

I would second Teleview's suggestion and choice of equipment with only one minor addition.

For the DB8e, since your stated reception goals are for Hartford specifically in WVIT, WTNH, WTIC and WFSB. I would focus both panels at towards magnetic 308 degrees. This would allow you to use the DB8e's gain to your highest advantage for the Hartford signals at 302 and 315 magnetic.

If you want to receive MyNetwork WCTX, then orientate DB8e as per Teleview. If you want to focus on the major networks, orientate as I suggested.

For the Y10-7-13, magnetic 260 for WTNH per Teleview.

Use preamp as recommended.

Cheers.
