IMO, if you can't at least use an attic antenna, OTA reception is a lost cause. The attic might work, but a small, outdoor all band antenna would be my minimum recommendation for reliable reception.

Yes, the HBU-44 or 55 would be more directional & may require a rotor for WMPT. The HBU-22 may be enough, but the HBU-33 is a nice compromise for getting the job done.

Also, the USB based tuners I have used don't deal with strong signals in the mix as well as conventional TV...

Try raising or lowering the antenna 6-12 inches. It may be sitting in a weak spot for WFIE & just needs a slight vertical tweak to see a more consistent signal.
