HD antenna advice
Finally ready to cut the cord and looking for some feedback on antenna type and setup.
I plan to use the existing coaxial cable and use an outdoor antenna. Placement would be on the west side of my house approx. 10 feet above ground. http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...5b94d0b3e4fcdc Appreciate the help! |
Consider the Antennacraft HD850 or CS290... Or the Channel Master CM3018 or CM5018. These are all channel antennas, which include coverage for WLFM on real CH-6 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WLFM-LP
If you have no interest in WLFM, an RCA ANT-751R would offer the coverage for the remaining signals west of your location. |

----- Install a , www.antennacraft.net , HBU11K antenna Above The Peak Of The Roof. Aim the HBU11K antenna at about 300 degree magnetic compass direction. Here is how to aim antennas , www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html Use a Real and Actual magnetic compass to aim antenna. A antenna system amplifier is not required. For 1 Tv connected use No splitter. For 2 Tv's connected use a simple common 2 way splitter. For 3 Tv's connected use a simple common 3 way splitter. |
Thanks guys, I appreciate the help. Surprising how affordable these antennas are. Now I just need to buy more coaxial and try not to pull a Clark W Griswold climbing on the roof.

True this is less than a 1 month payback which is a no brainer considering I never watch 90% of the junk on cable.
Now I am thinking this would be perfect for our camp in central pa, although considering the remoteness and the fact that we are in a valley is this a pipe dream to expect to pick up a few local channels? http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...5b94df26152018 |

----- At the camp site , looks like , WPSU-Tv Real UHF channel 15 PBS. WHVL Real UHF channel 27 MyNetwork and America One. Will be received. ----------- W42DG , Real UHF channel 42 , NBC and Me-Tv. Is very weak signal strength at , 12.1 NM(dB) and will most likely not be received reliably. To see if more antenna height above ground will improve signal strength. Please make and post 2 more Tvfool reports. 40 and 60 feet antenna height above ground. Do not delete the first Tvfool report that has the antenna height 20 feet above ground. |
