Antenna Selection in City

http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...073b5f92326ab8

I was hoping that someone might be able to help me select an antenna for my new apartment. Indoor is really the only option, but I am slightly concerned that the bulk of the channels seem to be coming from the north (if I'm reading that map correctly) and all of my windows are facing east. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You have the advantage of plenty of signal power.

Consider a Terk HTDVi, http://forum.tvfool.com/showthread.php?t=2828

Resist the temptation to add any amplified products to the list of prospects. You already have far more signal power than needed.

Tv Antennas and Tv Reception

This recommendation is based on the tvfool radar plot for Current Plus Pending Applications Included Digital Broadcast Tv Channels.

Install a Terk HDTVi , Non Amplified indoor antenna. Do Not use any type or kind of amplified antenna , the Tv transmissions are VERY STRONG at your location , a amplifier will overload and be the cause of bad reception or no reception of some channels.

Aim the HDTVi antenna at about 340 degree magnetic compass. Here is how to aim indoor and outdoor type antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

The best building structure for indoor Tv reception is , wood frame with wood or vinyl siding and standard asphalt type composition flat shingles on the roof.

If the building is/has , metal framing , concrete walls , concrete blocks , cinder blocks , bricks from ground to roof , big rocks for walls , Metal siding , stucko Wire , metal roof , metal backed insulation , solar panels , then reception will be reduced or blocked.

Does your apartment have a patio or balcony on the , north , east , south or west side??
Is your apartment a end unit ??
And you say the only windows are east facing windows??
Is the apartment a basement apartment??
Is the apartment a ground floor apartment??
If not , what floor?? How many floors does the building have??
Is yours the top floor??

Here are places to by the HDTVi , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.amazon.com.

All Questions and Information about Broadcast Tv Reception

The Tv/s Must scan for the Broadcast Tv Channels sometimes named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

Do Not scan for cable Tv channels.
